This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, excellent communication, and a commitment to service excellence. You’ll manage trades and subcontractors, carry out inspections, and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.
Role Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage damp and mould inspections, investigations, and remedial works
2. Supervise in-house operatives and external contractors to ensure quality and value for money
3. Diagnose root causes of damp, mould, and condensation and specify appropriate remedial actions
4. Ensure works are completed in line with current legislation, building regulations, and best practice
5. Monitor performance, productivity, and compliance against KPIs and service standards
6. Act as a technical lead, providing guidance and support to teams and colleagues
7. Manage complex and escalated cases, including resident complaints
8. Ensure accurate record keeping, reporting, and audit trails
9. Promote a strong health & safety culture across all works
10. Liaise with residents, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and customer satisfaction
Role Criteria
11. Proven experience in damp and mould diagnosis and remediation
12. Good understanding of Awaabs Law and its application
13. Experience supervising repairs or maintenance teams
14. Strong knowledge of housing repairs, building pathology, and compliance
15. Excellent communication and customer service skills
16. Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively
17. IT literacy (housing management/repairs systems desirable)
18. Full UK driving licence
