Job Advert: Learning Support Assistant - Romford
Position: Learning Support Assistant Location: Romford Start Date: As soon as possible or September 2026 Salary: £90 - £105 per day Contract Type: Full Time

A vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Romford is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a well-respected school community, either starting immediately or from September 2026.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), either within the classroom setting or in a dedicated resourced provision. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support that helps pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN
Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Support classroom teachers with differentiation and behaviour management
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
Help track and report on pupil progressThe ideal candidate will:
Have prior experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, ideally in a secondary school setting
Be compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting young people
Have a good understanding of SEN and the strategies to support these pupils effectively
Be adaptable and confident working across different subjects and year groupsThis role is based in a well-resourced and forward-thinking secondary school in Romford, committed to providing excellent opportunities for both students and staff. The school is easily accessible via public transport and offers excellent support and ongoing training for all staff.
