Duties And Responsibilities
To implement and maintain the Oceaneering floating systems integrity management service to ensure the continued integrity of our client’s offshore production facilities. This service is to be in line with Oceaneering and the Client’s documentary requirements and legislation where applicable.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
1. Provide technical leadership and authority in Naval Architecture, delegating work where applicable to junior engineers within their technical capabilities. Review and check junior engineer’s output.
2. Provide support to our clients which includes integrity management / inspection management / maintenance activities for Floating Systems (both hull and topside structures) in accordance with client contractual requirements.
3. Ensure projects are performed in accordance with industry codes/standards / classification rules, legislation, accreditation, and Oceaneering or client policies/procedures.
4. Prepare and maintain floating systems (hull and topside structures) integrity and inspection management strategies and risk-based assessments.
5. Ensure the strategies are implemented with the development of appropriate short and long-term plans and activities in accordance with the client planning process.
6. Manage development and approval of detailed inspection work packs / work scopes for inspections and activities for the appropriate personnel or contractor(s). Ensure all parties are fully conversant with all aspects of the workscopes.
7. Review and endorse all relevant 3rd party hull and topside structures Inspection Reports, including NDE Reports, and confirm the inspections have been carried out as required by the strategies and workpacks.
8. Carry out appropriate assessments or investigations of reported defects, report any anomalies and highlight any areas of concern to the appropriate client focal point. Advise the client when conditions present any immediate threat to integrity.
9. Write accurate and concise reports which review, analyse, and trend integrity management and inspection data and provide informed recommendations for repair strategies.
10. Develop strong relationships internally with the integrity management team and externally with clients, contractors and offshore personnel to ensure excellence in delivery and an effective integrity service.
11. Undertake offshore visits, site visits or surveys as required.
12. Promote the use of innovative methods or specialist technology to provide a more efficient service.
13. Assist in the review and maintenance of Oceaneering processes and procedures for all aspects of floating systems.
14. Support development of, or input to bids and proposals in support of global operations.
15. Support the Business Development function in the identification and development/delivery of marketing to prospective clients.
16. Support the Line Manager in the management of Oceaneering’s contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management including budgets/forecasting/CTRs.
NON-ESSENTIAL
17. The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.
18. Assist with any other duties as and when required.
19. Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities
24. This position may have some supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
25. Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or related discipline e.g., Structural, Mechanical.
DESIRED
26. Master’s degree in a related subject e.g., Naval, Structural, Mechanical.
27. Award of professional engineer status within local region e.g., CEng/EUR ING/PE
28. Offshore medical and survival certification.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
29. Extensive specific experience related to the job description.
30. Demonstrated understanding of floating systems and hull integrity methods.
31. Detailed understanding of the application of Classification Society Rules for naval structures and mooring systems.
32. Understanding of inspection and NDE methods, and experience with Classification Society surveys.
33. Good communicator, both written, verbal and technical to make complex terminology simple for the benefit of others.
34. Good client or support contractor relationship skills at various levels of seniority or diverse cultures.
