The Healthcare team seeks a 2-6 PQE solicitor to support Tracy Sell-Peter’s team. The role offers significant training and development opportunities within a successful healthcare litigation practice, representing clients such as insurers, medical professionals, and regulators. The team values teamwork and holistic legal development, providing an environment free from many private practice restrictions.
Responsibilities include:
1. Advising and representing healthcare professionals before regulators like GMC, GDC, HCPC, NMC; GMC experience is highly valued.
2. Handling MHPS and private hospital disciplinary cases.
3. Representing healthcare professionals and insurers in clinical negligence claims.
4. Providing medico-legal guidance and pre-action assistance, including internationally.
5. Offering policy coverage advice to healthcare insurers.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience in healthcare litigation, including defendant clinical negligence and regulatory cases. Applicants with only claimant experience are not suitable.
2. Insurance law and coverage experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, technical legal ability, attention to detail, motivation, teamwork, confidence, resilience, initiative, and organizational skills.
