About You

Working Pattern
* 12 weeks training, the first few weeks you will work on Monday-Friday at 10-6pm.
* Thereafter, training will continue during your regular shift hours which will be; Mon - Fri, 0700am - 1500pm
* Contracted hours: 37.5 hours per week
* Breaks: 30‑minute unpaid break per shift
What You Will Do
* Following a highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
* Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
* Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
* Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
* Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
* Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.
Required Experience
* Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
* Basic end user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT system.
