What will you be doing?
Joining us as an IT Operations Support Engineer, you’ll be working closely with colleagues and other internal teams, covering incident and request processes.
You’ll oversee the full deployment of releases and patches into the live environment, ensuring it is up to date.
You’ll help protect the BAU environment by ensuring all releases are thoroughly tested and signed off before implementation.
Working closely with our Problem Management Engineers, you’ll address high volume or large impact trends across all services and devices.
In this varied, challenging, and rewarding role, you’ll help ensure we remain compliant with policies and work as part of a resolver team for complex interactions, collaborating with wider resolver teams.
You’ll be required to step into the incident lead role during major outages or disruptions, forming part of the resolution team as needed.
The role covers core hours as well as out-of-hours support on a rota basis for Priority 1 incidents from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.
How will I know if I am right for this role?
Ideally, you’ll have a high level of technical ability across disciplines including networking, security, applications, desktops, and EPOS environments.
Experience working with ITIL principles is essential to ensure the protection of the live environment.
You should have a strong eye for detail, the ability to spot trends, and remain calm under pressure while handling multiple priorities.
You’ll be skilled at analyzing interactions to identify root causes and prevent trend emergence.
Excellent communication skills are necessary, with the ability to adapt your style to your audience and simplify complex jargon when needed.
Please note, the role may require covering unsociable hours for project delivery, so flexibility in working hours is important.
