Event Safety Steward We are Showsec, the award-winning venue and event security specialist dedicated to achieving excellence in crowd management. We are seeking additional Event Safety Stewards to join our Aberdeen team over the spring period. Work will be available at a variety of venues including P&J Live, and Pittodrie Stadium (Aberdeen FC). The role of an Event Safety Steward is largely focused on customer service, so we expect you to be confident, approachable and friendly. Our casual contract offers you great flexibility to choose when and where you want to work. Due to the nature of the events industry, evening and weekend availability is desired. Please note: shift availability is not always consistent or guaranteed, so this role would be ideal for candidates looking to top up their existing income. What you will be doing Perform pre and post event checks Assist with safe and effective ingress, egress and queue management Enforce venue policies and procedures Pass, accreditation, and ticket checks Ensure fire exits and evacuation routes are always kept clear Monitor spectators for signs of distress, overcrowding and inappropriate behaviour, and report these to the on-shift supervisor Be vigilant, identify potential hazards and suspicious behaviour, and report to the on-shift supervisor Assist with evacuation and invacuation procedures in the event of an emergency Ensure health and safety guidelines and regulations are adhered to by all stakeholders Understand and complete general stewarding responsibilities What Showsec can offer you A minimum hourly rate of £13.45 per hour (comprising a pay rate of £12.00 and indicative holiday pay of £1.45). Holiday pay is indicative because it is accrued at 12.07% for every hour worked in accordance with your average pay rate over the previous 52 worked weeks.
