OPERATIONS MANAGER – LARGE RETAIL OUTLET – SOUTHAMPTON – CIRCA £43,000 + BENEFITS
We’re currently supporting the recruitment of an Operations Manager for a large, high-footfall circa £9m retail venue near Southampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager to take ownership of the key back-of-house, warehouse and compliance functions in a busy, customer-focused retail and leisure environment.
The role covers health & safety compliance, goods in, customer services, stock control and audit processes, working closely with the General Manager and other senior leaders to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the centre. As Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
* Leading, developing, and inspiring the operational teams to deliver outstanding results
* Overseeing health & safety compliance, maintenance, and operational procedures across the site
* Managing stock control processes, audits, and loss prevention to meet targets
* Driving efficiency and accuracy in all operational areas while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
* Controlling budgets, labour costs, and operational KPIs in line with business goals.
* Acting as Duty Manager when required
We’re looking for someone ideally who has strong operational experience and is up-to-date with current health & safety legislation. Ideally you will have:
* Experience managing large teams in a busy retail, leisure, or hospitality environment.
* Understanding of stock control, budget management, and operational compliance
* The ability to lead multiple departments
* Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
* Commercial awareness, be organised and able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on leadership
* Excellent knowledge of health & safety and can maintain high standards
