Role purpose
As HR Advisor, you’ll support the HR Business Partners and be a trusted partner to operational teams, covering the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through to exit. You will help shape a positive, inclusive culture and provide guidance on HR policies, employee relations (including investigations and consultations), disciplinaries, TUPE processes, performance, learning and development, absence, and engagement in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide proactive, expert HR advisory support across the site, ensuring consistency and fairness in all people matters.
* Advise on employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, performance and development initiatives.
* Champion wellbeing, diversity, and engagement across the workforce.
* Collaborate with the wider HR team to drive continuous improvement and compliance.
* Ensure fair, consistent application of policies and employment law.
* Partner with managers to drive a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities with digital skills
* Trusted HR Advisor: provide expert guidance on ER, absence, and performance management. Tools: Microsoft Teams (Advanced), SharePoint (Intermediate) for policies and documentation.
* Data-Driven Insight: analyse people data to identify trends and opportunities. Tools: Excel (Advanced), Power BI (Intermediate).
* Transformation & Change: support restructures, redundancies, and ill health cases. Tools: Jotform (Intermediate), SharePoint (Intermediate) for secure documentation.
* Collaboration & Escalation: work with Strategic HR BPs to escalate complex cases and support delivery of people plans. Tools: Teams and SharePoint for collaboration.
* Process Improvement: identify and implement HR process enhancements. Tools: Excel, Jotform, SharePoint for documentation.
What we're looking for
* Previous HR advisory experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally manufacturing, FMCG, or similar settings.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Excellent communication, coaching, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
* Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with a passion for people.
* CIPD level 5 qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
* Ability to hit the ground running, understand the site quickly, and bring experience, confidence, and initiative. You’ll support projects, analyse data, and help turn ideas into action.
