Overview
Phoenix Community Primary School is looking for a Teaching Assistant for our Early Years class. You will assist in the delivery of engaging and innovative teaching within the classroom, on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Contract and hours
This is a fixed term position until 31st August 2026 (with the potential of the post becoming permanent in the future).
Hours: 31h 15m per week – Term Time Only, 8.30am – 3.15pm
Monday to Friday (including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break).
Responsibilities
* Set up learning areas and lead intervention groups.
* Support children with learning needs and assist the teacher in delivering lessons to help pupils reach their full potential.
* Occasionally be responsible for the whole class and provide 1-to-1 pupil supervision as required.
* Be flexible, enthusiastic and maintain a positive attitude.
Qualifications and attributes
* Strong English and Maths skills to support lesson delivery.
* Experience in Early Years is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is important.
