The Team
You will join the Specialist Technical team, providing dedicated support to students studying on the Art and Design suite of programmes, Fine Art, Photography, Illustration, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Product Design, Animation and Games Design.
The role
This is an exciting time to join the team as we open our newly refurbished and extended Design Centre at York St John.
You will be required to work closely with students, technical specialists and the academic team. You will be responsible for the constant overview and maintaining of the specialist environments and equipment within the facility. You will also be expected to oversee key aspects of supported open learning and in lesson support, engaging with students to help facilitate and inspire their learning. You will deliver technical demonstrations, workshops and one to one guidance for students using your knowledge and experience in print making.
Required skills and experience
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and has the following key skills:
1. Experience and knowledge of a range of print making processes including screen-print, lino, dry point etching, copper plate etching, letterpress, mono-print, cyanotype and collagraphy
2. Experience in delivering high quality, engaging and creative workshops/demonstrations
