Reports to: Strength & Conditioning Coach Location: Merchant Taylor’s School & various locations around Middlesex Term: Part Time - 2-3 Hours per week; 10 Months Fixed Term Contract, November 2025 – August 2026 Salary: N/A – travel expenses (where appropriate) The Role Middlesex Cricket, based at Lord’s, is responsible for cricket in the county, from Men’s and Women’s professional teams to recreational cricket for all ages within 17 London Boroughs that form the county of Middlesex. Middlesex CCC have an exciting opportunity for a Nutritionist placement spanning the 2024/25 off season and competition period. The position will last for 10 months (November to August) and will provide the successful candidate with exposure to off-season physical training, pre-season tapering and in-season competition. Purpose of the role To assist with the provision of nutrition support across the academy, age group and programs at Middlesex CCC. Hours of work 2-3 hours per week with most nutrition support to be completed remotely and any in-person provision either being weekday evenings (approximately 5-8pm) or Sundays. Additional sessions are available however are beyond the remit of this role and at the discretion of the successful candidate as further development opportunities. Principal responsibilities The successful applicant will be offered the chance to gain experience under the supervision of the Athletic Performance Department to Middlesex CCC, within the following areas: Enhance the performance nutrition strategy at Academy level, which promotes best practice in all aspects of an aspiring professional cricketer. Support the nutritional strategy for individual athletes in order complement their training and match day requirements at various stages of the year e.g. pre-season v in-season. Where appropriate, provide squad presentations covering various aspects of performance nutrition to optimise both individual and team performance. Provide support and interventions for injured Academy athletes to maximise their return to play and competition. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Essential Undergraduate degree in sport science or related discipline. Computer literate in Microsoft office and database management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic and a willingness to learn. Desirable Full driving license and access to a car ISAK Level 1 Accreditation Disclosure and Barring System Check (assistance available) Current First Aid qualification (assistance available) Safeguarding Certificate (assistance available) Previous experience of delivering nutritional support within a professional sports environment.
