Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our flagship Ophthalmology Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. In 2021 we opened our brand-new Eye Unit at Chorley Hospital. The £17.5m investment in this new facility comprises three purpose-built theatres, an outpatient department with more than 20 rooms, rapid eye assessment service and macular suite with two injection rooms. The ophthalmology department provides diagnostic and treatment services for patients with medical eye conditions.
We are looking for Scrub Practitioners who have a passion for providing high quality patient focused surgical care and who have a flexible attitude towards work and a desire for new challenges. As a trust we are committed to the development of future healthcare professionals and theatres is pivotal to these trainees. As a qualified practitioner you would be expected to contribute to their development and support.

Responsibilities
* As an integral member of the operating theatre team, you would be directly involved in the following ophthalmic procedures:
* Vitreoretinal surgery
* Oculoplastic surgery
* Cataract surgery
* Strabismus surgery
* Glaucoma surgery
* Corneal surgery
* Emergency and trauma surgery
