Overview
The Highfield School's vision is to produce responsible young people of whom we can all be proud. We plan to raise the standards of achievement of every child and to be outstanding in every area. We do not underestimate the challenges involved in achieving this, but we believe in the principle of aiming high. To support us along this journey we are now recruiting a first line IT Support Technician. We are looking for a problem-solving ethos and a desire to learn. This position is an ideal first step into a career in IT. We believe that the person is more important than their experience. If you feel that you don't match every point of required experience or knowledge but are ready to step up and learn, we welcome your application. The successful candidate will be expected to provide first line support including:
* Troubleshooting and resolving IT issues for staff & students.
* Hardware/software/printer issues - PCs, iMacs and iPads.
* Work reported issues/requests via tickets in a Helpdesk system.
* Supporting student & staff iPads via Microsoft Intune.
* Support & maintain classroom technologies, e.g. projectors, PCs, interactive screens.
* Occasional installation of software on specific PCs.
* Support school events that require AV Support in the school hall.
* Prioritise the Teaching & Learning requirements of the school.

Occasionally there is a requirement to work outside of hours to support events e.g. open evening. This extra time worked is returned as time off in lieu. We offer personal development training opportunities, overseen and delivered by a highly experienced IT Team to develop the right candidate's knowledge and skills. We encourage the IT support staff in all our schools to collaborate and help each other, and we provide communications channels to facilitate this.
