Post Title: Practice Placements Lead - Nursing
SBU/Department: School of Health Medicine and Life sciences. Department of Nursing Health and Wellbeing.
FTE: 0.5 fte (18.5 hours per week)
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH9 £58,225 to £69,488 pro rata pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

Our nursing programmes are accredited by the NMC and lead to registration as a nurse on the NMC register. This role will focus on the strategic overview, quality assurance and planning of practice placements across the range of the nursing provision, and liaison with and support of practice partners.
Main duties and responsibilities
This is a pivotal role for the Department, dedicated to ensuring that students and learners have access to high quality practice placements which are compliant with NMC requirements. The post holder will be the key link between placement providers, the Department and the Practice Placements Administrative team.
* Actively monitor placement capacity across the provision and liaise with relevant internal and external colleagues to predict and address capacity shortfall.
* Lead and participate in the identification and establishment of new placements, working closely with practice partners, and be innovative and creative in approach to placement expansion within the NHS as well as the Private, Voluntary and Independent Organisations (PVIO).
* Liaise with senior School personnel regarding professional body requirements and UH governance, while maintaining relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
Skills and experience
* Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with a solid understanding of placement learning.
* Experience of teaching and analysing data sets to inform leadership in placement capacity planning.
* Experience working independently, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines, with a background in the health and social care sector and a sound understanding of its practices.
* Excellent communication, written, verbal, and listening skills; ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and maintain compliance.
Qualifications
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in nursing or a relevant field, or significant experience; be registered with the NMC.
