Academic Appointments are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to work on an ad hoc basis in Mainstream Resource Provisions across Leeds. These provisions support students with a range of needs such as autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties within mainstream settings, offering the perfect opportunity for individuals to develop their experience in the world of special educational needs.\n\nJob role\n\n * Supporting students with additional learning needs within a mainstream classroom setting\n\n * Assisting teachers in implementing personalised learning plans for students\n\n * Helping with classroom management and promoting an inclusive learning environment\n\n * Providing 1:1 support or working with small groups of students\n\n * Encouraging student independence and helping them to engage with their learning\n\n * Offering behavioural and emotional support as needed\n\nEssential\n\n * Experience in a similar role, ideally within SEN settings or mainstream schools\n\n * A caring, patient, and proactive approach to working with children\n\n * Strong communication and interpersonal skills\n\n * A good understanding of supporting students with autism, ADHD, or other learning difficulties\n\n * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)\n\n- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -\n\nRate of pay is dependent on current grade, experience and payroll method.\n\nWe are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
