Responsibilities
* Ensure high standards in all aspects of care and development in line with the EYFS for all children attending the nursery
* Organise resources for activities and experiences in the nursery
* Assist in enhancing developmental progress in children
* Implement the daily routine within the nursery
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and good housekeeping
* Maintain thorough knowledge of all nursery policies and procedures, ensuring their adherence
* Recognise when a child or colleague is at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure
* Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect health, safety and wellbeing of children (e.g., food safety, diets, allergens, COSHH, accidents)
* Apply principles of risk assessment and management within documentation and practice
* Teach children skills to manage risk and maintain safety
* Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet individual child needs
* Develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in education and care of the child
* Undertake the role and responsibilities of key person
* Recognise and apply attachment theories to develop effective relationships with children
* Provide sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years
* Advocate for all children's needs, including those requiring SEND or EAL support
* Promote and facilitate children's interpersonal communication to develop social interactions and relationships
* Support children to develop a positive sense of identity and culture
* Support children to understand and respond to emotions and make considered choices about behaviours
* Assess responsiveness of environment for effective child-centred experiences in line with curriculum requirements
* Create inclusive, child-centred, dynamic, innovative, and evolving physical environments both indoors and outdoors
* Create inclusive and supportive emotional environment that enables children to feel safe, secure, respected and experience wellbeing; maintain and prioritise individual child's voice
* Apply strategies that support children's ability to manage change, transition, and significant events
* Analyse observation evidence to assess and plan holistic individual learning based on comprehensive understanding of child's needs and interests
* Facilitate and support child-centred opportunities and experiences based on the setting's curriculum and pedagogy
* Provide adult-led opportunities and experiences based on curriculum and pedagogy
* Use reflection to develop themselves both professionally and personally
Apprenticeship Requirements
* Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent)
* Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
* End-Point Assessment (EPA)
* Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
* Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
* Apprentice must successfully complete Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency

Apprenticeship Details
* Training schedule to be agreed; details will be provided later.
* Apprentices may share if they have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
* For the successful candidate, possibility of ongoing employment upon completion of the relevant qualification.

* Rosedene Nursery located in Guisborough.
* Ofsted rating: Good.
* Offers exceptional education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years.
* Additional services include Holiday Club for children up to 11 years, School Pick Up/Drop Off and Wrap Around for local primary schools.
* Learning activities include beach school sessions at Saltburn Beach, and many outdoor activities utilising large outdoor areas year‑round.
* All activities support development of confidence, social skills, learning capacity, curiosity, enthusiasm, communication, problem‑solving skills and emotional well‑being across the 7 EYFS learning areas.
Salary and Hours
* £11,778 for first year, which may increase depending on age.
* National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices discussed at regular intervals.
* Hours: 30 hours a week, 7.30am - 6.00pm. Days and shifts to be confirmed.
* Start date: Monday 16 March 2026. Duration: 1 year 3 months.
