Overview
Programme Manager - Interfaces Project (Part Time, Fixed Term) role at Cambridge Service Alliance. The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance. The DeepMind Professorship is an endowed chair in Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge's Department of Computer Science and Technology. The interfaces project focuses on the interaction between ML algorithms, traditional computer science, and humans to ensure uncertainty is presented calibrated to the human user.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Interfaces Project, planning, implementing, and managing all phases to ensure timely delivery against clearly defined objectives.
* Develop robust workflows, operational systems, and collaborative engagement mechanisms (workshops, strategic sessions) to track progress, maintain accountability, and facilitate research productivity across the project.
* Maintain a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, ensuring active involvement from academic participants and enabling meaningful contributions to deliverables; build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including industry collaborators, policymakers, practitioners, and community organisations; promote open communication and shared understanding.
Qualifications and experience
* Degree or Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent.
* Proven expertise in research administration, having established governance and monitoring systems that support high-performing research environments.
* Experience in financial oversight, including budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and detailed reporting.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate large-scale initiatives while managing multiple priorities toward measurable outcomes.
* Proactive, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
