Your Role
and What You'll Be Doing
About the Role
Irwin Mitchell is investing significantly in its data and analytics capability and is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping our data architecture.
This role will initially focus on the architectural design and evolution of our Lakehouse platform, before broadening into how data services, APIs, and emerging AI capabilities sit on top of that foundation. It’s a genuinely strategic opportunity to help move the organisation beyond reporting, enabling automation, insight‑led workflows, and AI‑driven decision‑making across the business.
You’ll operate as a design authority rather than a hands‑on developer, working closely with Architecture, Data Engineering, Analytics, Insight, and senior stakeholders across the firm.
About You
What You’ll Do
1. Lead the solution and architectural design of the firm’s Lakehouse platform, ensuring it supports core management systems and other large‑scale enterprise platforms
2. Design how data is exposed and consumed through API‑led architectures, enabling scalable data sharing and automation across the business
3. Shape the future data ecosystem, integrating new internal and external data sources into the Lakehouse
4. Work with data analytics, engineering, and insight teams to ensure architecture supports advanced analytics, Power BI, and operational use cases
5. Define how data outputs embed into downstream systems and workflows (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, 3E, SuccessFactors)
6. Act as a key advisor to system owners across the business, helping them access and leverage data safely and effectively
7. Partner with Procurement to ensure any new technology aligns with the Lakehouse and wider architectural standards
8. Contribute to future‑state thinking around AI‑enabled solutions, including automation, recommendations, and insight‑driven workflows
9. Produce high‑quality architecture artefacts (logical, physical, integration designs) and present them clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
This is a design‑led Solutions Architect role — you’ll guide and assure solutions rather than write production code.
