Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Transport Operator.
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
About the role
Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with fixed 12 hour shifts, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day execution of the transport operation. You’ll work closely with drivers, planners, warehouse teams, and outlying depots to make sure deliveries and collections run smoothly and on time.
You will be responsible for:
Executing the daily transport plan and supporting on‑time deliveries and collections
Briefing and debriefing drivers and supporting them throughout their shift
Coordinating with planning, warehouse teams, and external partners to keep operations moving
Monitoring KPIs to ensure service levels and customer expectations are met
Building strong working relationships with customers, 3PL sites, and internal teams
Supporting Transport Managers with compliance‑related activities
Following all DFDS policies, procedures, and safety standards
You’ll work in an open‑plan office alongside teams such as Fleet and Finance, so communication and collaboration are key.
About you
You’ll ideally have some background in transport or logistics, but we’re also open to candidates from other fast‑paced environments who show the right attitude and ability to learn. Strong communication skills are essential, along with a proactive, inquisitive mindset and a natural problem‑solving approach. An International CPC would be beneficial, but full training can be provided as part of your development if required.
You’ll be confident working independently at times, comfortable making decisions, and always act with the best interests of the business in mind.
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
