Job Description
Breakthrough technology is vital for strengthening the UK’s Defence & Homeland Security. As a Technical Consultant at Awerian, you will be at the forefront of this innovation race by helping to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.
Your work will have a real-world impact. You will explore pioneering concepts by collaborating with elite multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and designers. You’ll create prototypes through Awerian’s rapid design and implementation approach. This role is challenging, varied, and agile.
Daily activities include analysis, computational modelling, prototype design, invention, laboratory testing, process development, and manufacturing, operating at the boundary of technological exploration by inventing new solutions and enhancing hardware.
Your problem-solving skills will be enhanced as you address complex electronic engineering challenges, testing your understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles beyond electronics.
The Role
As a Consultant, you will work on projects involving high-speed digital electronic design, RF and microwave electronics, antennas, power electronics, analogue electronics, and PCB technologies.
You may have expertise in one or more of these areas or be interested in developing further capabilities. There is also scope to develop FPGA firmware (VHDL/Verilog), embedded software, and algorithms.
You will develop skills in client and supplier interactions and have opportunities to cultivate leadership skills on technical projects.
We welcome recent graduates or candidates with up to 3 years of industry experience. Our supportive team provides individual mentoring to foster your growth.
Why Awerian?
Awerian is a defence and security technology consultancy with about 35 scientists and engineers, based outside Cambridge. You will be encouraged to share and implement your ideas from day one, with no 'newbie' status, supported by a culture of freedom.
As part of TTP Group, an employee-owned trust, we operate with little hierarchy, promoting mutual support, teamwork, and innovation. There are opportunities to develop skills in project leadership and client management.
Our rapid growth makes this an exciting time to join our multidisciplinary team. You will be supported by experts and have opportunities to connect, thrive, and feel included, whether leading projects or collaborating as part of a team.
