The Opportunity
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Plumbing, Heating & Gas Engineer to join a growing mechanical services business delivering high-quality work across both domestic and commercial environments.
This role offers a strong mix of installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding work, providing variety and the opportunity to work on modern systems, including renewables.
You’ll be trusted to work independently, represent the business professionally on-site, and deliver work to a high standard of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Experience with renewable systems such as heat pumps would be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing & Heating
Install domestic and commercial plumbing systems from first fix through to commissioning
Carry out heating system installations and modifications (copper, MLCP, steel)
Diagnose and repair faults across heating and hot water systems
Replace and upgrade system components including pumps, valves, cylinders, radiators, and controls
Gas Works
Install, service, and repair domestic and commercial gas appliances
Work on boilers and commercial plant systems
Conduct gas safety inspections and issue certification
Perform tightness testing, purging, and commissioning in line with regulations
Maintenance & Breakdown
Attend reactive call-outs and carry out fault diagnosis efficiently
Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Provide clear, cost-effective repair solutions
Communicate effectively with clients on issues and recommendations
Renewables (Desirable)
Install, service, and fault-find on ASHP and GSHP systems
Work with low-temperature heating systems
Follow MCS standards and industry best practice
Compliance & Reporting
Complete job reports, service sheets, and certification accurately
Adhere to Gas Safe regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and H&S standards
Work in line with RAMS and site-specific procedures
Maintain clear documentation and photographic records where required
What We’re Looking For
Essential
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
Valid Domestic & Commercial ACS Gas qualifications
Proven experience across installation, servicing, and breakdowns
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
Professional, customer-focused attitude
Desirable
Commercial gas tickets
Air Source and/or Ground Source Heat Pump experience
Unvented hot water certification
Experience working in commercial environments and plant rooms
MCS knowledge or willingness to upskill
