About the role
Working as a key member of the People team, you will provide a commercial HR service to our Tax service line. You will manage the HR service delivery and support all elements of the employee experience from joining RSM, to going on family leave, to leaving, and everything in between. You will also work closely with the Senior People Advisor and People Advisory Manager to strategically support a regional area of the business, working on engagement, sense of belonging, wellbeing, diversity & inclusion initiatives. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the National People Team function with the opportunity to work on strategic national projects.
This role will work closely with 1 other People Advisor in the region; however, the team also includes an Assistant People Advisor and is supported by a People Assistant and a member of our central People Operations Team.
The remit of the role will focus on proactive HR support and advice to your client groups, including completion of the annual bonus and salary review processes, dealing with employee relations issues as they arise, providing wellbeing and absence management support, provision of management information/analysis, and delivery of learning and development initiatives.

About the job
In this role, you will provide generalist HR advice in areas including:
* Partner Support and Line Management Development: providing support and guidance to key stakeholders, department heads, and line managers to help them manage their areas of responsibility and ongoing development. Undertaking coaching sessions (both individual and group) regarding performance management, grievances, disciplinary, absence management, coaching skills, and appraisals. You will also work with National Training contacts to provide feedback on training needs analysis and action plans, with regular meetings to discuss trends and needs.
* Compensation and Benefits: supporting with the annual bonus and salary review processes, reporting into the Senior People Advisor and People Advisory Manager. Using benchmarking and market rate information to guide line managers, reporting trends to the Reward team, and managing related administration in liaison with the People Operations team. Ensuring offers of employment and contractual terms align with policies and local actions for harmonization.
* Employee Relations: advising and guiding partners and line managers on performance issues, conducting investigations, and attending meetings. Managing restructures and redundancies within your areas.
* Recruitment and Selection: working closely with Talent Acquisition leads for experienced hires.
* Wellbeing and Absence Support: trained as a Mental Health First Aid champion, providing advice on mental health and complex occupational health cases.
* Appraisals: managing appraisal moderation meetings, ensuring fair grading distribution, and advising on feedback, coaching, and objectives.
* Policies and Procedures: advising on application and updates of company policies.
* Projects: leading or participating in national and local HR projects.
* Induction and Exit Procedures: ensuring proper induction, conducting exit interviews, and reviews for senior roles or contentious situations.
* Reporting: utilizing HR systems for regular reporting on various HR metrics.
* Family Leave: advising on maternity, paternity, parental, and shared parental leave, and promoting shared parental leave.
Requirements
The role requires:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a People Advisor in a generalist role (essential)
* Experience investigating disciplinary and grievance cases, conducting redundancy and consultations (essential)
* Ability to work independently from line managers (essential)
* Stakeholder management skills at all levels (essential)
* Experience with salary review processes (preferable)
* Experience in professional or financial services (preferable)
* Experience working in a multi-site environment (preferable)
* CIPD qualification or working towards it (preferable)
* Strong organizational skills
* Excellent client service skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
* Passion for HR
