Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School (Heaton Chapel)
Start Date: September 2025 | Daily Rate: £80 – £100 | Full-Time
Are you passionate about supporting young people to succeed in their education? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Heaton Chapel is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to making a difference in the classroom. You’ll support students with a range of needs, including those with EHCPs, to access learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs
* Assist teaching staff in the delivery of inclusive, differentiated lessons
* Support the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised strategies
* Help manage behaviour positively and encourage student engagement
* Contribute to a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, or support setting
* Calm, empathetic, and confident working with a range of learning needs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Reliable, organised, and enthusiastic about helping young people succeed
Desirable:
* Understanding of SEND and experience with EHCPs
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) – not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
