The Position

The Asset Management Department is responsible for a growing fleet of renewable energy assets.

RES is expanding its Advisory Services offering by developing a team within our Asset Management Department to provide consultancy services to meet our clients' requirements. We are looking for an experienced renewables consultant to join this new team.

The position of 'Renewable Energy Consultant' will be responsible for delivering client-facing Advisory Services activities across our AM portfolio. Initial support will be available from existing staff within the Asset Management Team.

This role reports to the Advisory Services Team Lead in the UK&I and collaborates closely with Asset Managers, Business Development Managers, Operations Support Team, AM Finance Team, and other departments within RES.


Key Accountabilities

* Understand and interpret client's needs, clearly communicating client's goals to internal and external stakeholders
* Be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Advisory Services and one-off projects, including due diligence, owners engineering, and technical missions
* Support growth and cost reduction targets
* Undertake technical, project management, commercial, and customer-facing activities
* Support regular communication with target clients and provide feedback to refine the product offering
* Prepare & deliver presentations and reports for Asset Management team and clients
* Ensure appropriate contracts are agreed with clients and that time and costs are properly accounted for
* Work with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to meet project goals
* Ensure project deliverables are on time, on target, and within budget
* Support development of proposals to secure new work
* Manage financial performance of projects
* Mentor and support less experienced team members
* Identify and communicate technological developments or regulatory changes relevant to the business


External Engagement

* Work with clients to identify requirements and key contacts
* Attend client meetings and site visits within the UK and globally


Knowledge

* Understanding of technical aspects of renewable energy infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of renewable energy systems, preferably onshore wind, solar PV, and/or battery energy storage systems
* Established network within the renewables industry
* Understanding of commercial aspects, including project finance


Skills

* Ability to produce clear reports and communicate effectively in English
* Strong commercial and contractual awareness
* Team player with project management skills
* Initiative and self-motivation
* Planning, organizing, and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
* Willingness to travel
* Proficiency in other languages is a plus


Experience

* Owners engineering, due diligence, technical advisory, or consultancy in onshore wind
* Experience with battery storage systems is advantageous
* Modeling experience in Windfarmer, WindPRO, Python, PVSyst, Chronos is advantageous
* Technical consulting experience in renewables industry
* Managing budgets and client-facing roles
* Contract review and preparation
* Proficient in Microsoft Office365


Qualifications

* Degree or equivalent in Engineering or relevant Business/Commercial discipline
* Valid UK driving license
