We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Officer to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements, while driving a culture of quality across the organisation.
If you have a degree in a scientific or engineering discipline and have a minimum of three years working a in a quality assurance role then this could be the role for you.
Supporting primarily our Sodium Bicarbonate plant in Winnington, Northwich, there will be a requirement to travel to our other sites so a full clean UK driving license with no bans or convictions is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise and support to line management and employees across the business regarding compliance with quality standards, including internal management of change as well as external changes to standards to ensure that compliance is maintained.
Support the effective deployment of key QMS processes and procedures including customer complaints, internal and supplier audits, document control, corrective/preventive actions, management review and business level quality review processes, QA review and release of product and any other duties in relation to the role deemed necessary.
Work closely with the Quality Officer from our British Salt plant and QA Manager to ensure full coverage and support for the business is always maintained
Support the management of quality related KPIs, systems and processes to report and act on quality performance issues and trends in line with business priorities.
Drive improvements across the QMS including leadership / facilitation of quality improvement teams (QIT’s) and projects using appropriate improvement tools and techniques.
Liaise with customers, external accreditation bodies and suppliers in support of TCEL product registrations and customer satisfaction.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Hold a degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with 3 or more years experience working in a Quality role within a regulated environment
Previous experience working within QA systems that include food/feed/chemical/pharma, and experience of internal and external audits.
Knowledge of standards such as ISO9001, BRC, GMP and FEMAS and knowledge of regulatory bodies such as MHRA
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
IT proficient - Comfortable with data input, interpretation and report writing as well as a sound knowledge of spreadsheets used to pick up trends
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Confident working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety standards.
