Location: Ty Bwlch residential home, Treorchy
Responsibilities
* Provide emotional, physical and personal care and support to enable children and young people to reach their full potential.
* Work with families and professionals to ensure care and support is personalised to meet individual needs.
* Support children and young people to move on positively from placement and contribute to positive future planning.
* Engage in direct work and activities with children and young people, using a therapeutic approach to support recovery and build resilience.
* Contribute to a safe, nurturing home environment led and supported by experienced managers and senior staff.
* Invest in developing trusting relationships and participate in training to practice in a Trauma Recovery Model of care.

Requirements and qualifications
* You will be expected to hold or be prepared to work towards the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or predecessor NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People).
* Registration with Social Care Wales, either on appointment or after completion of the Induction Framework.
Working patterns
Shifts include weekends and bank holidays and are typically 7.30am – 3.30pm and 3pm – 11pm. Sleep-ins and occasional nights on a rota basis may be required. You may be asked to work at other local authority residential locations to meet service needs.

Additional information
We recognise the challenging nature of Social Care work and support staff with dedicated in-house Learning and Development to maintain skills and Professional Development. Successful applicants who do not hold the relevant qualification will be supported to achieve the QCF Level 3 Diploma within 2 years of appointment.
