We are partnering with a well-established national health charity to recruit an experienced and people-focussed Head of Finance on a one-year FTC. The role will lead and develop a team of six, overseeing financial operations, providing strategic financial oversight and ensuring robust financial management across the organisation. Responsibilities: Lead the development and delivery of the charity's financial strategy, providing insight, modelling, and analysis to support long-term planning Oversee financial governance, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, and all regulatory requirements. Manage the annual audit and the preparation of statutory accounts in line with Charity SORP. Produce timely and accurate management accounts, forecasts, and budgeting information for senior leaders and trustees. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and effective use of financial systems. Monitor financial risks and reserves, developing mitigation strategies and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. Lead, support, and develop the finance team, while building financial literacy across the wider organisation. Person Specification Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector. Strong technical accounting skills in charity accounting principles (SORP) and financial compliance. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
