Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a professional and efficient reception and administrative service to patients, clinicians, and the wider practice team. Duties include managing appointments, answering telephone enquiries, greeting and directing patients, maintaining accurate records, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of reception services, and ensuring excellent patient care and confidentiality at all times. The role also involves assisting with general administrative tasks, supporting clinicians, and maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception environment.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Previous experience working within a GP practice, NHS, or healthcare environment
* Experience using EMIS Web or other clinical systems
* Knowledge of NHS services, procedures, and medical terminology
* Previous reception, customer service, or administrative experience
* Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organisational and time management skills
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email systems
