About the Role
This school is seeking a dependable and proactive School Caretaker to join their team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs on the school site.
* Ensure the premises are clean, secure, and well-presented.
* Open and lock the school daily, including alarm checks.
* Support with health and safety checks and compliance.
* Assist with deliveries, furniture moves, and room setups.
* Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, paths, and car parks.
* Respond to emergencies and report any hazards or issues promptly.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities (preferred).
* Basic DIY skills and familiarity with cleaning equipment.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and take initiative.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
