This role sits within the GP Collaborative Board(GPCB) Office and plays a key part in supporting a group of Clinical Leads whoare working across a range of health pathways. Youll provide proactive projectmanagement support, helping to turn ideas and priorities into wellplanned,welldelivered pieces of work.

Working in a structured and organised way, youllplan, deliver and close projects effectively, managing timelines, stakeholdersand deliverables to ensure work is completed on time, within scope and withinagreed resources. Youll be confident coordinating across different people andpriorities, keeping projects moving and stakeholders informed.

The role also supports the GPCB Development andEngagement Manager, contributing to the effective daytoday running anddelivery of the GPCB Offices wider activities. Its a varied post, well suitedto someone who enjoys working collaboratively, bringing clarity to complexityand supporting clinical leadership to succeed in their work.


Main duties of the job

Planand deliver projects from start to finish, using a structured projectmanagement approach

Developclear project plans, including scope, timelines, deliverables, resources andgovernance arrangements

Managedaytoday project activity, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks andissues

Ensureprojects are delivered on time, within scope and within agreed resources

Monitorperformance against KPIs and maintain quality assurance throughout the projectlifecycle

Engageand work collaboratively with Clinical Leads, internal teams and externalsystem partners

Facilitatestakeholder engagement, including chairing project meetings, workshops andsteering groups

Manageproject finances, including budgets, forecasting, expenditure tracking andescalation of variances

Coordinateprocurement and contract management where required

Producehighquality reports, dashboards and updates for senior stakeholders

Evaluateoutcomes and lead postproject reviews to capture learning

Supportchange management activity, including communications, training and embeddingnew ways of working

Ensurecompliance with relevant legislation, policies and standards

Maintainaccurate project documentation and audit trails

Providecomprehensive administrative and organisational support to the GPCB Office andClinical Leads

Supportthe GPCB Development and Engagement Manager with the effective delivery of GPCBOffice activities


About us

One Care is the general practice (GP)federation for Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire(BNSSG) and the representative body for general practice inour health system. We help our member practices and PrimaryCare Networks (PCNs) run strong, sustainable businessesby providing practical support,cost-savings and expertise across finance, digital,operations, business intelligence, human resources (HR) andcommunications.

Alongside our support services,we represent general practice through our membership ofthe BNSSG Integrated Care Board (ICB) and our GPCollaborative Board (GPCB), which provides a forum for general practiceto shape system priorities and influencedecisions. Our 15 Clinical Leads provide leadership tosupport integration between general practice, community and acuteservices.

Wealso deliver projects and programmes that supportinnovation, improve ways of working, or solve challengesfaced by general practice and their patients. As a CommunityInterest Company (CIC), we only take on contractsthat benefit general practice and surplus income isreinvested into member services and helps keepour subscription fees as low as possible.

Our 66 member practices care for nearlya million people and span inner city, rural and coastal areas of affluenceand high deprivation. As one of the largest GP federations in the UK, we have adeep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by generalpractice, and their diverse perspectives.


Job responsibilities

Job Purpose

To work within the GP Collaborative Board (GPCB) Office to proactivelyprovide project management support to a group of Clinical Leads who areworking across a number of different health pathways.

To plan, implement and close projects well, using a structuredapproach.

To manage project stakeholders, ensuring that all project deliverablesare completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

To Support the GPCB Development andEngagement Manager ineffective delivery of GPCB Office activities.

Key responsibilities

Project Planning

Developdetailed project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines,and resource requirements.

Conductstakeholder mapping and engagement planning to ensure inclusive and effectivecommunication.

Establishgovernance structures and reporting mechanisms tailored to the commissioningorganisation.

Useproject management tools to track progress and dependencies.

Project Execution

Leadthe day-to-day management of project activities, ensuring alignment withstrategic goals.

Monitorproject milestones, KPIs, and deliverables, adjusting plans as needed tomaintain momentum.

Proactivelyidentify risks and issues, maintaining a risk register and implementingmitigation strategies.

Ensurequality assurance processes are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaboration andStakeholder Engagement

Facilitatecross-functional collaboration, ensuring all stakeholders are informed andinvolved.

Chairproject meetings, workshops, and steering groups to drive progress andresolve challenges.

Buildstrong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and systemstakeholders.

Resourcing and BudgetManagement

Developand manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.

Trackexpenditure against budget, produce financial forecasts, and escape variances.

Coordinateprocurement and contract management where required.

Reporting andEvaluation

Producehigh-quality reports for senior leadership and stakeholders, includingdashboards and narrative summaries.

Evaluateproject outcomes against KPIs and strategic objectives.

Leadpost-project reviews and lessons learned exercises to inform futureinitiatives.

Change Management

Designand implement change management strategies to support adoption andsustainability.

Delivertraining, workshops, and communications to support users and stakeholders.

Monitorchange impact and adjust plans to ensure successful embedding of newpractices.

Governance andadministration

Ensureall project activities comply with relevant legislation, policies andstandards

Maintainaccurate documentation and audit trails.

Support,and provide a comprehensive administration function for the Clinical Leadsand GPCB Office.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years demonstrableexperience managing complex projects from initiation to closure

Proven ability to manage multiplestakeholders, including senior leaders, clinicians, and external partners

Strong track record in risk management,resource planning, and performance monitoring

Experienceusing project management software and tools

Experiencein the design, development and implementation of NHS projects

Experience in budget management andfinancial reporting
