Overview
We are looking for an ambitious, highly motivated and passionate Product Developer to join our in-house “Own Brand” Design Centre team at Footasylum. We are home to multiple brands across mens, womens, kids and accessories. This role offers the opportunity to work on Footasylum’s “own brands” such as Zavetti Canada, Alessandro Zavetti and many more.
Responsibilities
* Critical path / timing: Oversee CP meetings to communicate with multiple factories to ensure the production process is on track. Ensure the team work to a critical path to ensure the development process is smooth and that the ex-factory dates are maintained.
* Product compliance: Responsible for the full control of testing requirements and new manual guidelines, and provide feedback to the team on what is needed.
* Innovation: Look for ways to improve ways of working within the team and the department. Implement and maintain new procedures and ways of working documents.
* Relationship/communication: Work directly with overseas suppliers and travel for production and development trips (may include evenings and weekends). Work closely with the Product Development Manager to ensure the PD function runs smoothly.
* Mentoring: Support and mentor product developers to develop the team further by leading and supporting the Mid and Junior team to create a motivated team for continuous improvement. Lead product developers to ensure products follow all safety standards and meet minimum testing requirements. Monitor and support product developers in working closely with Designers and Buyers to develop own brand products which are fit for purpose.
* Product Development: Oversee product developers with checking submissions from factories including lab dips, bulk fabric and print submissions. Oversee measuring and comment on all own brand samples across all categories. Lead product development fit meetings to ensure products are manufactured to the highest standards by assessing samples on and off fit models and advising on commercial construction solutions.
* Organization: Oversee and report day-to-day workload for the Product Development team. Manage log of own brand returns and bulk QC checks from suppliers and warehouse, and oversee general QC function. Ensure day-to-day organization is met, including organizing samples, archiving old samples and maintaining submission files. Demonstrate self-motivation, good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines; adapt to changing demands and priorities.
