Job Overview
Fixed-term 6-month maternity leave secondment for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist at BCUHB East IHC covering Wrexham and Flintshire.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, advise, and treat children and young people with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.
* Work as part of an integrated team with specialist therapists to provide assessment and therapy.
* Collaborate with children, their families and supporting agencies.
* Maintain detailed clinical records and participate in regular supervision meetings.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Recognised qualification degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registration.
* RCSLT registration.
* A range of clinical experience across paediatric SLT services.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of assessment tools, and effective planning, time‑management and organisational skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Membership of an appropriate clinical network group.
* Experience of delegating work to non‑registered staff.
* Experience of working in multidisciplinary/multiprofessional teams.
* Ability to speak Welsh.
