Description Our Dudley office is looking for a capable and motivated Accounts Trainee to join the team. This role is ideal for someone with at least two years' experience in a similar position who is looking to further develop their technical skills within a supportive and professional practice environment.
You will work across a varied portfolio covering bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts and year-end accounts preparation, gaining strong exposure to a broad client base.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of a regular allocation of mid to large sized companies' bookkeeping and management accounts with minimal supervision
Ensuring all files are prepared to a consistently high standard with minimal review points
Completion of simple bookkeeping reviews, ensuring files are complete, control accounts are reconciled, and VAT is reasonable compared to prior periods
Raising bills in a timely manner following completion of work
Preparation of small to mid-sized company accounts with minimal supervision, ensuring disclosures are appropriately considered
Completion of sole trader and simple limited company accounts reviews to a good standard
Attending client premises when required to complete regular work or year-end accounts/audit assignments professionally
Preparation of low-risk audit testing with minimal supervision
Supporting junior team members with basic audit testing where appropriate
Ensuring allocated jobs are completed in line with internal deadlines, working additional time where necessary
Key Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar accountancy practice role
Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience
Good understanding of VAT and management accounts
Ability to work with limited supervision and manage own workload
