Job overview

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of Mathematics to join our team in Deeside. You’ll possess energy, enthusiasm and desire to inspire a love of Maths. You will be responsible for delivering Maths lessons in line with relevant curriculum requirements, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained, whilst collaborating with the wider Maths faculty to sustain and raise class achievement to an outstanding level.

The right candidate will have:

1. Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
2. Relevant specialist qualifications and subject experience (e.g BA Hons. degree in Mathematics)
3. Understanding of curriculum requirements for Mathematics
4. Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
5. Understanding of how to implement assessment methods for differentiated learning strategies

All appointments are subject to satisfactory safer recruitment and pre-employment checks, which may include an enhanced DBS disclosure (including a Children’s Barred List check where the role involves regulated activity), verification of identity and right to work in the UK, confirmation of professional qualifications and any required professional registration (e.g. Education Workforce Council), satisfactory references including specific safeguarding questions, and occupational health clearance where required.

Applications must be made using the Flintshire application form. CVs alone and open references or testimonials will not be accepted. Applicants must provide a full employment history, including education, employment and voluntary work, and explain any gaps in employment. These will be explored as part of the shortlisting and interview process.

References must include the applicant’s current or most recent employer and the last employer where the applicant worked with children, where applicable. References will be sought and verified directly, and candidates must not obtain their own references.

If shortlisted, any discrepancies, anomalies or concerns identified during the recruitment process will be discussed at interview and/or during pre-employment checks.

Where a role involves regulated activity relevant to children, applicants will be informed that it is an offence to apply if they are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
