Job Opportunity: Clinical Teaching Fellow
We are offering a highly attractive fixed-term Clinical Teaching Fellow position from 06/08/2025 to 05/08/2026. This role provides unique training opportunities, including involvement in the development and delivery of NHS GG&C's simulation and skills-based teaching programs for undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Responsibilities include:
1. Teaching simulation-based sessions (e.g., ALS, medical emergencies, procedural skills, recognition and management of sick patients).
2. Contributing to foundation program curriculum teaching on hospital sites and training days.
3. Participating in case-based learning sessions at the University of Glasgow.
4. Developing and examining OSCEs.
Post holders will work within a team of NHSL Clinical Teaching Fellows, primarily based at one hospital. They will attend regular meetings to review educational outcomes, support peer development, and engage in ongoing educational activities. Additional departmental research and conference contributions are also expected.
The role supports personal study, including completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education, with paid time allocated during working hours (up to one session). Clinical duties include weekly clinical sessions to maintain and develop clinical skills, with arrangements made based on experience and career goals.
Additional Details
Banding is at 1B. Participation in the resident on-call psychiatric rota for mental health inpatient sites is required. The post adheres to supervisory and assessment processes for both clinical and teaching activities. While ideal for trainees holding a NTN as an Out of Programme Experience, consideration is also given to those seeking a LAS contract.
