Site Engineer – Construction Location: Feltham, Surrey / Greater London Client: Tier 1 Main Contractor Project Type: New Build School (circa £30m) Employment Type: Freelance (Temp-to-Perm / Permanent also considered) Rate: Competitive Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor on an exciting £30m new-build education project in Feltham, Surrey / Greater London. This is a freelance position, with flexibility for temp-to-perm or permanent arrangements for the right individual. The programme duration is expected to run for 2–3 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a major scheme within the education sector. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in setting out, QA processes, and overall site engineering duties on large-scale construction projects. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee setting out, site surveys, and quality assurance procedures. * Interpret and work from construction drawings and technical plans. * Use surveying instruments and equipment with confidence (e.g., total stations). * Collaborate closely with the project management team to ensure programme targets are met. * Maintain site documentation in line with company and industry standards. Requirements: * Previous experience delivering similar responsibilities on school or education sector builds is essential. * Relevant engineering qualification (Degree or equivalent). * CSCS card required; SMSTS and First Aid certification desirable. * Ability to work efficiently and accurately with survey equipment and tools. * Enhanced DBS Clearance (or willingness to obtain). * Strong attention to detail, leadership capability, and excellent communication skills. * Must be commutable to Feltham and open to future work across the Surrey and Greater London region if required. * Ability to provide verifiable references from previous projects.
