The Role
Fortem Solutions are looking to recruit a Chargehand to join our Stonewater Housing contract. Our contract with Stonewater covers the following locations, Yeovil, Warminster, Wincanton, Shaftesbury, Salisbury, Southampton, Swindon and the surrounding areas. As a Chargehand you will need to manage a small team and deputize for supervisor and undertake a range of building maintenance work. You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The Chargehand takes ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around the tenants.
The Client
Our contract with Stonewater is long term with the option to extend the partnership again. On our contract we cover over 7,500 houses in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth. We currently deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and an Electrical Service program. Duties & Responsibilities
• Deputize for Supervisor and carry out supervisory duties when required
• Take control of large jobs on a site where more than one trade is required
• Undertaking Mandatory Health and Safety Inspections for Ad hoc and Work in Progress when required.
• Ensure work is undertaken safely and in accordance with all technical standards
• Honour appointments made
• Communicate effectively with tenants
• Stewardship of plant, equipment and materials
• Promote positive corporate image
• Work safely and in compliance with Willmott Dixon Health & Safety requirements
• Take ownership of work and aim for 'First Time Fix' on all jobs, within budget and time parameters and/or minimize recalls.
• Willingness to accept change.
• Develop excellent individual and team working relationships.
• Remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of skill area.
• Uphold Willmott Dixon Partnerships standards and image: - Customer Care - Quality of Service Delivery - Personal Presentation - Following the procedures of Willmott Dixon Partnerships
• Carry out Responsive repairs
• Cover all areas across the Contract
• Cover all workstreams where needed to infill for a supervisor
• Report on H&S findings to the Operations Management team monthly
• Cover quality control visits on all workstreams
• Technical and process support for trades during working day and OOH when required.
• Will be required to work OOH on the trade team Rota.
• Deputize escalation for OOH for supervisor cover. Meeting surveyors on site.
