Cambian Pengwern College is a 52‑week placement provision with a proud tradition of supporting students aged 16‑25 with moderate to severe learning disabilities and complex needs, including challenging behaviours, to gain life skills, qualifications and confidence for independence.
The college is registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) and Estyn, and we undertake regular rigorous inspections in addition to our internal quality assurance processes.
Our person‑centred approach develops an individualised learning programme for each student, matching needs, personal decisions and aspirations—whether in daily living, vocational qualifications or independent living.

The Headteacher is seeking an aspiring Teacher to join this thriving specialist college. Reporting to the Headteacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons and ensuring the department and the college achieve their aims.

* Understanding of teaching, learning and qualifications.
* Experience of working in non‑mainstream settings with challenging learners.
* Ability to empathise and support development of learning.
* Robust understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Ability to work as part of a small team.
* Excellent delivery and communication skills.
* Reliability, flexibility, adaptability and ability to motivate and inspire.
* Good coordination and organisational skills.
* Demonstrable track record of student achievement.
* Innovative, fast‑thinking and versatile.
* Good general level of ICT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Experience of working with E3/L1 qualifications.
* Relevant teaching qualification or vocational experience – essential.
* Hold a relevant professional teaching qualification such as a degree or PGCE or equivalent.
