About the Role

Based across Aston House and Vine House, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Careers Assistant to help shape the futures of our learners aged 16–25. Working hand-in-hand with our Careers Lead, you’ll empower students to build vital employability skills, boost their independence, and make meaningful progress towards their Preparation for Adulthood goals.

3. Build and maintain strong partnerships with local employers, training providers, and community organisations to secure meaningful opportunities
4. Personalise career and employment activities to match the individual needs, interests, and abilities of each student
5. Collaborate closely with tutors, teachers, and support staff to embed Preparation for Adulthood outcomes across employment, independent living, health, and community inclusion
6. Assist in managing and promoting accredited programmes that support student achievement and progression
7. Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress, and outcomes related to careers and work experience
8. Represent the college professionally when liaising with external organisations, employers, and community partners
9. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the college’s careers and employability provision, ensuring it remains inclusive, current, and impactful
10. Support students in developing confidence, communication skills, and workplace readiness through targeted coaching and mentoring

This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in students’ lives, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed beyond college.

Who we are looking for

You’re organised, proactive, and passionate about helping young people unlock their potential and thrive beyond college. You communicate confidently and build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.

11. Experience supporting learners aged 16–25, particularly those with additional needs
12. Strong organisational and communication skills
13. Committed to equality, inclusion, and promoting learner independence
14. Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
15. Bonus: Experience coordinating work placements or familiarity with employability and Preparation for Adulthood frameworks
