30 hours per week, 12 month fixed term contract | £19,047.60 per annum

Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT) is seeking a passionate and organised Project Officer to support the delivery of the Century of Memories project, celebrating 100 years of Rotherham United Football Club. This heritage-focused initiative will engage diverse communities, collect oral histories, produce creative outputs, and promote inclusion through football.

The Project Officer will play a key role in coordinating activities, supporting community engagement, and ensuring smooth delivery of project strands including oral history, digital storytelling, exhibitions, and environmental legacy.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

* Assist in planning and organising project tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
* Support the Project Manager in coordinating team activities, meetings, and stakeholder communications.
* Maintain project documentation, including task lists, schedules, and reports.
* Support with match-day activities.
* Liaise with partners, and community stakeholders to ensure project needs are met.
* Assist in logistical arrangements for project events, including booking venues and managing resources.
* Track and report project progress, identifying potential risks and issues.

Community Engagement & Coordination

* Support outreach to schools, care homes, youth groups, and underrepresented communities.
* Assist in organising events such as Legends Coffee Mornings, school workshops, and match day activities.
* Liaise with partners including Rotherham United Ladies, Mature Millers, and United 4 Communities.

Heritage & Oral History

* Assist with oral history interviews, including scheduling, documentation, and consent forms.
* Support participants undertaking accredited oral history training.
* Help manage the collection and archiving of memorabilia and stories.

Digital & Creative Outputs

* Contribute to the development of podcasts, mini-documentaries, and the digital time capsule.
* Work with artists, filmmakers, and young people to support creative storytelling.
* Help curate content for the project webpage and social media.

Environmental Legacy

* Support the "100 Trees for 100 Years" initiative, including coordination with schools and RMBC.
* Assist with tree planting logistics and community engagement around environmental themes.

Monitoring & Evaluation

* Collect and input data into Salesforce and other systems.
* Support feedback collection from participants and partners.
* Assist with reporting and evaluation activities.
* Ensure compliance with project budgets and funding guidelines.

Miscellaneous

* Commitment to the values and strategy of Rotherham United Community Trust.
* Additional duties as assigned by line manager.
* Comply with all RUCT policies including Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.
* Demonstrate commitment to inclusive and safe working practices.
* Demonstrate high levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
* To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times. The post holder will be required to work some match days, evenings and weekends as the requirements of the job demands.

Person Specification

Essential Attributes

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage players, parents, coaches and partners.
* Passion for Heritage and the history of Rotherham United F.C and Rotherham town.
* Creative, solution-focused approach with strong planning, organisational and IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, remaining calm under pressure.
* Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.

Experience

* Experience in media production, event coordination, or community engagement.
* Proven experience coordinating projects.
* Budget management and monitoring/evaluation of programmes.
* Working with schools, clubs, community groups and governing bodies.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in project management, administration, media, or a related field.
* FA Safeguarding Children and Emergency First Aid certificates.
* Enhanced DBS certificate (Trust will arrange if needed).
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
