Amplifi Talent is partnering with an award-winning, locally owned, multi-site SME headquartered in Antrim, to recruit a suitably experienced Financial Controller on a permanent basis. With ambitious plans for growth, our client seeks a hands-on finance professional to lead and manage the finance function with a focus on control, insight, and financial guidance & support.
Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the business. You will support senior leadership through timely, accurate, and insightful management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. This is a key hire as the business scales and professionalizes its finance operations. This opportunity may suit a seasoned Finance Manager / Controller or an ambitious Management Accountant looking to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Management Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts to senior leadership. Analyse financial performance, providing commentary and insights on key variances. Develop and maintain financial KPIs to support decision-making.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing reforecasting cycles. Collaborate with department heads to create and manage departmental budgets. Build financial models to support planning and scenario analysis.
3. Cashflow & Working Capital: Manage and forecast short- and long-term cash flow requirements. Monitor working capital, liaising with suppliers and customers. Optimize cash position and ensure liquidity for operations and growth.
4. Financial Operations & Controls: Maintain and improve internal controls and processes. Oversee day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, credit control, payroll, and VAT returns. Work with external accountants and auditors for year-end accounts and compliance.
5. Financial/Strategic Support: Support the MD and CEO on financial strategy and business decisions. Assist with funding and investment activities. Contribute to commercial discussions, contract reviews, and pricing strategies.
Person Specification
Essential: Accounting professional with at least 5 years' experience, ideally in an SME environment. Strong management accounts and budgeting experience. Proven cash flow management skills. Experience in a fast-paced, growth environment. Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills. Hands-on, proactive, and commercially minded.
Desirable: Experience in tech or related sectors. Familiarity with Sage or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
