Key Responsibilities: Preparation, drafting, and checking of permanent Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Traffic Management Act 2004, and other relevant legislation. Ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national policies, including Transport Strategy, Healthy Streets, and Vision Zero objectives. Collaborating with traffic engineers, transport planners, and legal teams to align traffic orders with design specifications and enforcement requirements. Ensuring all statutory consultation and publication requirements for permanent traffic orders are met. Leading the management of stopping up orders under the Highways Act 1980 and related legislation. Coordinating internal and external consultations, working with Legal Services, Planning, Highways, and stakeholders. Arranging for the legal sealing and publication of traffic orders and maintaining a comprehensive database of enacted traffic orders. Contributing to the development of policies and procedures for processing permanent TROs and rights of way orders. Job Requirements: Expertise in traffic order legislation, regulations, and case law.
