Technical Manager – Food Manufacturing

We’re exclusively working with a privately owned food manufacturer that’s growing fast and making serious moves in the poultry and meat sector. They’ve invested heavily in a brand-new, high-spec facility and are already supplying major foodservice and QSR customers. Now they need a brilliant Technical Manager to help take their standards – and their team – to the next level.
This is a cracking opportunity to join a business early on its growth journey. You’ll be their technical lead – responsible for making sure food safety and quality systems are watertight, compliant, and audit-ready every day. You’ll take charge of the BRCGS programme, HACCP plans, allergen controls, traceability, and supplier assurance. If it affects product quality, you’re all over it.
You won’t be alone either. The business is backed by one of the UK’s top technical consultants – a BRCGS lead auditor who’ll be on hand to train, guide and support you. So if you’re an experienced QA Manager ready to step up, this is a rare chance to make that move with the right support around you.
You’ll also work hand-in-hand with Commercial, Ops, and Supply Chain to make sure technical doesn’t get in the way of smart decisions. You’ll support new product launches and help the QA team level up through coaching and leadership.
What you’ll need:

A degree in Food Science, Tech, or similar – or equivalent industry experience
*
QA or technical management experience in poultry or meat (this is a must I'm afraid)
*
Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, and UK food law
*
A cool head in audits and when dealing with customers
*
Great people skills and the confidence to challenge when needed
*
Commercial awareness – you get that quality and operations need to work together
Extra kudos if you’re BRCGS Lead Auditor trained or have experience with Halal production.
