Overview

The Director, PMO leads and supports a team of project managers and program managers in the successful execution of new product development projects (including fast followers) and sustainment projects. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting high-quality standards. It reports to the Senior Director, R&D & Portfolio management and collaborates with leadership on strategic planning, process improvement, and cross-functional work to enable the successful launch and sustainment of products in the Upstream portfolio. This position is part of the Upstream & Fluid Management R&D&E organization and located onsite in Harbourgate, Portsmouth or Marlborough or at the Hoegaarden site.

What you will do


Day to Day

* Support PMs (NPD and sustaining) in project execution including issue resolution, timeline challenges, and critical assumptions.
* Establish standard work for PMs.
* Implement and facilitate daily management of projects.
* Capture metrics to support live PSP and identify trends within projects.
* Manage project status, escalation, and tracking.
* Attend SPGs and PPGs as required.
* Mentor and develop the team, identifying development opportunities aligned with individual D4G goals.
* Collaborate with Portfolio Management to ensure strategic plans translate into aligned project and execution plans aligned with organizational goals.
* Coordinate resource allocation across projects and the portfolio for future programs.


Execution Process and Continual Improvements

* Create and implement the PMO Handbook.
* Implement MS Project and improve project forecasting.
* Develop and implement new tools and ways of working to support PMO.
* Define project targets roadmap (higher targets for TG5).
* Incorporate key actions from applicable PSPs.
* Provide NPD guidance for major and minor projects.
* Conduct risk analysis for complex projects and manage risk budget.


Who you are

* Minimum 2 years of people management experience, with a track record of delivering on projects.
* Multiple years of project/program management experience in a matrixed environment, preferably in new product development (NPD).
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred; PMP or equivalent certification.
* Proven track record of successfully managing new product development projects.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Familiarity with bioprocess manufacturing operations.
