Administrator – Service Unit
Working arrangement : Mostly remote working, once a week onsite would be preferable but once a fortnight is imperative at a council office nearest the candidates home.
Full time preferred but a minimum of 22 hours would be considered. Please state on application if applying for part time.
The Team : Working with Life Long services including Learning Disability, Autism, Physical and Sensory impairment. experience in these areas would be beneficial.
The Role : Diary Management, note taking, minutes of meetings, some data input. Supporting duty systems, dealing with callers. General support to the team. Must be Outlook 365 competent.
Level of Knowledge
Literacy and numeracy sufficient to follow procedures for a range of admin tasks.
General working knowledge of IT such as Word and Excel (or equivalent
packages)
Qualifications and Professional Membership
4 GCSEs with A-C passes including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or
experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
RSA I Word-processing or equivalent qualification – desirable
Experience
Previous experience of working in an office environment – desirable

Key Skill 1
Literacy and numeracy skills in order to understand complex written instructions
describing tasks, type documents or take complex messages.
Key Skill 2
General IT skills including Word and Excel (or equivalent packages) for word
processing, data processing, creating basic presentations, maintaining basic computer
databases and production of straightforward statistical data etc.
Key Skill 3
Good communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide clear and concise
advice and guidance to a range of clients, including the ability to provide receptionist
duties in an appropriate manner.
Key Skill 4
Ability to interpret information, such as service complaints, and then redirect them to
the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
Key Skill 5
Ability to plan over the short term in order to organise resource bookings, monitor
stationery orderings and co-ordinate FOI requests.
