Cornish Charcuterie produces a range of hard and soft charcuterie, Popti produces ranges of savoury biscuits and The Cornish Distilling Company currently produce a range of rums with brandy and gin in the pipeline. Job description
HR Management:
* Employee Lifecycle: Managing recruitment, onboarding, inductions, performance management, and offboarding.
* Employment Law: Ensuring compliance with current employment legislation, drafting policies, and updating employee handbooks.
* Employee Relations: Advising managers, handling disciplinary/grievance procedures, and improving employee engagement.
* Administration: Maintaining records, liaising with payroll, and overseeing training & development matrices.
Health & Safety Management:
* Compliance: Ensuring adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
* Risk Management: Identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing control measures.
* Safety Culture: Promoting a proactive, safe working culture through training, communication, and monitoring.
* Incident Investigation: Investigating accidents, near-misses, and reporting to senior management for remedial action.
Strategic & Operational:
* Policy Development: Creating, reviewing, and implementing both HR and H&S policies.
* Reporting: Analysing workforce and safety data to report to senior management on trends and compliance levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: Proven experience in both HR and H&S roles, preferably in a combined capacity.
* Qualifications: CIPD qualification (HR) and NEBOSH/IOSH certification (H&S) are highly desirable.
* Knowledge: Deep understanding of employment law and HSE legislation.
* Skills: Excellent communication, investigation, training, and interpersonal skills.
Role / Responsibilities
* Assist the management team as necessary and when required.
* Ensure that the building, equipment and supplies are maintained to a high standard.
* Report any maintenance/health and safety issues to the appropriate staff member.
* Participate in training.
* Ensure aims and objectives of the Company are met.
* Meet any KPI's (key performance indicators) as set by Line Manager.
* Participate in the development and maintenance of strategies, systems and procedures.
* Continually update own professional knowledge.
* Maintain effective communications systems and practices throughout the site.
* Ensure the company's policies, procedures are adhered to and monitored.
* Work within the requirements of Health and Safety legislation at all times.
* Carry out duties in a safe manner having regard for the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, visitors and other persons within the company.
* Actively demonstrate highest standard of cleanliness.
* Ensure EHO/SALSA relevant legislation standards are adhered to.
* To carry out other duties around the site and within the other businesses as will, from time to time, as directed to ensure the successful operation of the company.

Salary: £23,500 per annum
Hours: 24 hours per week to be agreed.
Annual leave: 28 days per year including bank holidays pro rata for part time
We are based in a rural location so you will need a drivers license and access to a vehicle.
