AddParts helps pharmaceutical manufacturers reduce costly production downtime by providing on-demand, fully compliant digital spare parts for production machinery.
We replace large physical spare inventories with a digital storeroom, enabling critical components to be manufactured and supplied with quick turnaround in a controllable manner. This improves operational resilience while reducing working capital and storage requirements for our customers.

The Role
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on reverse engineering and delivering critical machine components for pharmaceutical production environments.
You’ll work directly with real parts, real problems, and real production impact — not just clean CAD models.
You will:
* Visit customer sites to scan and assess components
* Reverse engineer parts without existing drawings
* Create accurate CAD models for manufacture
* Support the production and delivery of parts
* Work closely with experienced engineers and the founder
* Gradually take ownership of repeatable workflows
This role is ideal for someone UK based (Sheffield area) who enjoys figuring things out, working with physical components, and solving practical engineering problems.
Location:
UK-based (with regular travel to customer sites)
Salary:
£29,000 – £35,000 + expenses
Key Responsibilities
* 3D scanning of mechanical components on-site
* Reverse engineering legacy or undocumented parts
* Producing CAD models suitable for manufacture
* Supporting part validation and delivery processes
* Handling multiple projects with varying levels of complexity
* Building internal knowledge of common components and failure points
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical / Design Engineering
* Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks)
* Practical, hands-on mindset
* Willingness to travel to customer sites
* Strong problem-solving ability in ambiguous situations
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with reverse engineering or scanning
* Exposure to manufacturing environments
* Understanding of tolerances, materials, and production methods
* Experience working with legacy or worn components
