Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part time (40 hours per week).
The post will be based in the Regional Infectious Disease Unit (RIDU) for the 12 month period based at the Western General Hospital and replaces an existing research fellow post. The majority of the research work will be carried out in RIDU with a smaller proportion of time spent at the New Royal Infirmary, Little France and St Johns Hospital, Livingston.
The research fellow will be responsible for the oversight of the clinical aspect of infectious diseases studies in NHS Lothian including optimising care of patients with a wide range of infections including HIV, Influenza, COVID-19 and a wide range of bacterial pathogens.
The research fellow will be supernumerary to the general infectious diseases medical team but depending on their interests can be involved in ward work, outpatient work or on-call work if appropriate, taking account of research responsibilities.
