Essex Professional Coaching are looking to recruit Sports Coaching apprentices to play in improving the health and wellbeing of children, by delivering fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help to bring about a change in physical activity habits. Apprentices will engage with training that will develop and enhance their coaching skills and equip them to work in a variety of environments, with a range of stakeholders and work effectively in partnership with other organisations. To be considered for the role we are looking for someone who is: · Passionate about working with children and young people · A positive role model · Well organised, punctual and reliable person · Enthusiasm for sport, physical activity, teaching and learning Our Sports Coaching Apprenticeship Programme includes the following training: Level 2 Community Activator Coach Level 2 Coaching Award in Multi-skills Development in Sport FA level 1 Football coaching qualification Workshops and skills festivals focused on: Behaviour Management, Personal Development, Relationship Building & Leadership PE CPD & Resources covering the complete national curriculum (Including invasion games, striking and fielding games, net and wall games, athletics and gymnastics) Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications All programmes are designed to give the learner extensive understanding and experience in: Leading sports clubs during extra-curricular time at primary schools Delivering fun and engaging activity sessions at holiday clubs Providing sport and physical education lessons to children in schools Delivering football sessions in community settings Organising/running programmes that promote healthy lifestyles to young people Initiating positive behaviour change toward physical activity in community settings Key duties throughout the programmes include: Assist staff with their delivery of PE in the school curriculum Assist & lead delivery of breakfast, lunch time, and after school sports clubs Assist & lead sessions on our holiday club programme during school holidays Assist & lead sessions on our various football coaching programmes during evenings in term time Complete basic administration and office related tasks We will support you in your personal development by providing you with the underpinning knowledge, skills and experience for the following: Progression to a full time coaching position after apprenticeship Careers within the education and leisure industry Opportunity for further higher education Employee Benefits Include: Personal budget for external courses and workshops funded by the company Dedicated line manager to observe, feedback and support your individual learning on a weekly basis Employee assistance programme to support your wellbeing Free new company uniform and equipment Opportunity to progress within the company through our internal career pathway and progression ethos Monday to Friday working week Programme length: 12-14 months Contracted Hours: 30 Interview Stages After shortlisting has taken place, we adopt a 3 stage interview process: 1. Telephone Interview - To go through the role and get to know you in more detail 2. Open morning - If successful in stage 1 you will be invited to assist a session at our apprenticeship training morning, giving you the chance to interact with children, meet our current apprentice team and their line manager 3. Volunteer Placement - If successful in stage 2 you will be offered the chance to join our team on a volunteer basis to support our sessions at a time built around your commitments for a maximum period of a half term 4. Practical Delivery - If successful in stage 3 you will then be invited to deliver a session at one of our partner schools/camps to a small group of children based on a theme and lesson objective provided by our team Successful applicants will then be provided with a job offer via telephone and this will be followed up with email confirmation.
